Satellite Internet providers who offer satellite VPN services must take strong action in order to make high speed satellite VPN service a reality. Skycasters, in conjunction with V-One Corp. and VSAT Systems, has done just that.
 With SkySecure, VPN service is created in a true client-server model with a satellite VPN server located at the customers main location and an unlimited number of satellite Internet remote sites.
The SkySecure solution is 100 percent Hughes certified, and rated at 90 percent of the performance of an in-the-clear transmission.
The SkySecure satellite VPN is a FIPS-140-1 certified client-server satellite VPN enabling end-to-end 3DES encryption with individual user authentication.
The SkySecure solution is available in two configurations:
Standard SkySecure, where the SkySecure SG1500 (or G4500,SG5500) server is installed at the customers headquarters or central data center.
SkySecure "Lite" consists of SkySecure software only, which the customer installs onto a server of their own.
In either case, at the remote sites the SkySecure satellite VPN clients are loaded on individual PCs. The clients register with the SkySecure server via a secure web interface.
Only authenticated individual satellite Internet VPN remote users are granted access to HQ resources behind the SkySecure server, via a 3DES VPN tunnel.
