Akron, Ohio – June 17, 2010 Skycasters is pleased to welcome Matt Vasko as sales engineer. A 2010 graduate of Bowling Green State University, Bowling Green, Ohio, 2010 semi-finalist in the National Collegiate Sales Competition, and a summer and winter holiday intern at Skycasters, Matthew has both excellent credentials in sales, as well as experience within Skycasters.
“Bowling Green’s marketing program does an outstanding job,” said Skycasters President Mike Kister, a 1991 BGSU graduate himself, and a member of the BGSU Department of Marketing Marketing Advisory Council. “They very carefully train the sales students, giving them ample situational role-playing, as well as opportunities to compete with other students nationwide. We’re very fortunate that a stellar young salesperson like Matt has joined the Skycasters sales team. We expect great things from him.”
Day one, Matt jumped in, participating in Skycasters’ effort to identify safety organizations nationwide willing to sign on with Skycasters’ proposal to the USDA RUS American Reinvestment and Recovery Act broadband stimulus RFP. “I was really excited to speak with police and fire chiefs in rural America about their emergency communications capabilities,” Matt said, describing his first days.
“It was perfectly normal that many said no,” Matt continued. “But I really enjoyed having this life-saving product I was literally thrusting into their hands with absolutely no downside on their part. I recognize how rare that is. I’m now ready for the challenge to bring that same enthusiasm to selling Skycasters to paying customers. Here we go.”
Matt discovered sales early on in his collegiate years. For six months he was Branch Manager for Student Painters, one summer he was a sales intern at SunSource, and for over a year he was a door-to-door salesperson for the Toledo area meat sales organization, Goodfellas Meats.
Matt will develop relationships with prospects who’ve contacted Skycasters investigating satellite broadband Internet as primary connectivity or business continuity for businesses and safety organizations. Matt will help those prospects design the best Skycasters solution to meet the IP communications and data security needs of their businesses.
